We refer to our production style as “Wild West Filmmaking”: Everything is scripted but still flexible. We really care about the little things and we're highly detail oriented. Job Description

We are looking for a freelance Editor to join our team. We run about 8-10 projects a year and numerous smaller scale ones in between. If the stars align, the freelance gig would feel like full-time for certain periods. All of our work is done between Adobe Premiere and Google Drive and we need someone who will be able to handle an online/offline workflow.

We want someone who cares about the little things, who can be flexible when needed and ultimately, makes lemonade out of the lemons they’re given (within reason, of course).

We do not follow trends and fads. We don't use fancy transitions and stay away from most text effects. We avoid talking heads and b roll. Every video we do is the first time we do that kind of video, which means the work is always different and engaging.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years professional editing experience
  • Native English speaker
  • Ability to juggle multiple deadlines
  • Thorough understanding of Adobe Premiere. Being a keyboard-shortcut-aficionado is a plus
  • After Effects, Photoshop and DaVinci Resolve, Logic Pro and Adobe Audition are a plus
  • Highly organised and can adapt to different workflows
  • Flexible (not in the yoga way, but that that can be seen as a plus too)
  • A can-do attitude with a copious amount of elbow grease
  • Creative problem solver
  • Can work quickly and efficiently
  • An ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Transparent and timely communication
  • Responds to feedback effectively (doesn’t complain about us to our faces)
  • Competent at color grading
  • Competent with an offline editing workflow
  • Good understanding of sound work and audio design
  • Able to accommodate odd hours on occasion (7am,9am,11,13,15 etc.)
  • Good comedic timing and sense of pacing (if you like Mel Brooks, Monty Python and Leslie Nielsen, we like you)
  • Comfortable intercutting music / can find appropriate music (i.e. religiously avoiding low effort crossfading)
  • Location: Remote, non USA based

Pay Structure

Job-done, including up to three internal revisions and one client revision. Additional client revision paid extra.

Gig Profile

Average jobs take our editors 12-16 logged hours. Revisions 2-4. Total per job estimated at 12-24 hours.

  • A video you did lately where you feel you made good lemonade out of lemons.
